Loryn Jones, MSW, LCSW-A

Clayton and Garner, NC

Loryn Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate with a Master of Social Work from Simmons College. Loryn has over a decade of clinical experience within settings such as group homes for at risk youth, homeless shelters, psychiatric hospitals for both youth and adults, day treatment facilities, intensive in-home programs and outpatient therapy. Her experience has enabled her to support individuals who have challenges with anxiety, depression, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, poor self-esteem, poor stress management, relationship conflict, and severe and persistent mental illness.

Loryn focuses on partnering with each individual to understand their current stressors and to use an empowerment perspective to help them recognize and build upon their inner strengths. Loryn uses a variety of evidence-based approaches including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed interventions. Loryn believes that relationships are the most important tool to help people heal and has focused primarily on structural family therapy over the past year. This form of psychotherapy seeks to reduce distress and conflict within a family by improving interactions between the members and has shown to improve parent and adolescent relationships.

Originally from New York, Loryn moved to North Carolina in 2006 where she has enjoyed the warmer weather and southern hospitality. On her off days, Loryn enjoys relaxing environments and loves to explore new things with family and friends.
